I came away with the feeling that you were open to whatever life would throw at you. It's fascinating to see how you remember the meeting, so utterly different from my own experience or memory of it. "inactive queer LDS lads." I'm one of those. A few years ago, after I talked to a couple missionaries about many things queer and my concerns with the faith, leaving them totally aghast, they surprised me by bringing Mr. Pugmire the following week. I found myself by the end of the meeting leading a prayer about how "confused" I am. =D Talk about the power of persuasion. Since the meeting, I have learned much more about myself, about Mormonism, about "gayness"...I believe myself to be a more humble person, involved peripherally in the LDS community, perhaps in ways some would consider "evil" or "misguided," but well, we live a divided world. My path away from obedience was different, but the path back was the same and I feel the same about it: I cannot deny my answer and, in my case, the change in my nature.
