I worry that this fear of engagement is bad for her specifically but others generally. If you fear that everyone will be against you, how will you ever develop a community of the like-minded? .

Sure, she's done stand up. I get that that means she's a comedian. And she is definitely funny. But Baker is more than just that. She's a humorist. A humorist pokes fun at the simple experience of living and somehow, through that, extracts, creates,and exposes what really matters. She questions those who question soul: This book is proof that soul exists. Its delightful, charming, bitingly real, and oh by the way (but definitely NOT Bytheway) funny. And Mrs. Baker, if you've googled your daughter's name and find this, congratulations on having reared a young woman of this talent, saavy, bravado, and yeah, sure, testimony.
