Crud. Y'all are killing my book budget. I've already bought both of Eugene's books, the fob bible, and MoJo's novel since beginning my visits here.

It's a rueful, but happy situation; I'm not really complaining.

.

Incidentally, I have major problems with the forward. If I hadn't already purchased it, that forward would have stopped me from buying the book. A book, I might add, that's probably the single best short-story collection of any description that I've ever read.

[...] I mentioned this idea briefly in my review of “Long After Dark,” and then tried to go find where I had posted on it before. I could have sworn that I wrote something in the early days of AMV or perhaps on the AML-list, but I haven’t found anything and this could be yet another of those blog posts that I wrote notes on, but then never typed up (I often write my posts by hand during my long commutes on public transportation). I can’t find the notes either. [...]

I should add this one to my reading list because I like novellas and I've enjoyed some others of Zarahemla's offerings.

Speaking of novellas (and particularly of serializing them) the stories I've been serializing on my site are a series of LDS-interest novellas.

I'm not trying to be a nuisance by mentioning this. If you guys don't think these stories are Mormon literature (or if you don't think they're literature at all ;) ), that's okay -- this is just an FYI since you and Stephen Carver specifically mentioned that you were looking for examples of this genre.

Some of the novellas in my series take place entirely within a Mormon (not apostate) context, portraying the Mormon experience as complex and challenging, not dismissing Mormon ideals as wrong. If you're curious, you can see my site (linked to my name) where there is info on how to contact me.
