News: Deseret Book’s spring fiction titles

By Wm | 5.09.05

Deseret Book has posted excerpts from its three spring fiction titles on its Mormon Life Web site.

The Mist of Quarry Harbor by Morgan Adair appears to be a typical Mormon romance novel. Or at least a phrase from the excerpt — “a pair of brown eyes above a strong jaw and a rectangular smile that seemed to light up the world” — suggests so.

The Secret Journal of Brett Colton by Kay Lynn Mangum seems to be part of the young adult fiction genre. A young woman discovers the journal that her brother wrote for her while he was dying of leukemia.

Fairhaven Chronicles, Book 3: Through Cloud and Sunshine is the continuation of Sharon Downing Jarvis’s series focusing on a bishop looking over his flock — an LDS ward located in the southern United States.

Deseret Book is clearly aiming for the core LDS market here.

I just read The Secret Journal of Brett Colton and would definitely recommend it – it was excellent!
